MXF4mac Player is a QuickTime movie, MXF and GXF player. The free application provides professionals features combined with a simple user interface and efficient controls. The player is also able to play Panasonic P2 XML documents like movie files and with video and audio linked.

Usability

Is it possible to provide professional features without creating a cumbersome user interface? You will notice that all professional features are implemented in a very discreet way. The MXF4mac Player provides the following set of advanced features:

• JKL playback control
• Full screen playback mode
• Material and Source Package timecode modes for MXF
• QuickTime timecode, QuickTime movie time and frame count modes
• Set in and out points for movie exports
• One click Solo and Mute operations for up to 8 individual audio channels
• MXF OP-Atom video/audio merging for improved Panasonic P2, Ikegami and Avid playback
• Frame grabbing during playback directly to disk or clipboard

There is not much to configure, the features are easy to use like with all distinguished MXF4mac workflows.

Export Options

Many of you miss previous available export options in Apple QuickTime Player. MXF4mac Player brings back various export options through the standard QuickTime framework plus additional features such as partial export through in and out points as well as audio track selection. Export options can be extended by free available or extra codec and format components. The following export formats are provided by standard in Mac OS X:

• 3G, AIFF, Apple TV, AU, AVI, DV Stream, iPhone, iPod, Image Sequence, MPEG-4,QuickTime Movie and Wave
  Optional 3rd party export components:
• DivX
• Windows Media

Performance

The MXF4mac Player is very pure, no gimmicks or gadgets will slow down your workflow. Our test routines indicate that the MXF4mac Player opens 150 Avid MXF files in less than 10 seconds while it takes about 50 seconds with both the original Apple QuickTime 7 and QuickTime X Player to open the same set of files.

MXF/GXF Support

All customers of MXF Import QT can use the MXF4mac Player straight away to open, play and process MXF files. GXF support requires our GXF Import QT solution. If you do not have MXF Import QT or GXF Import QT installed then you can still use the MXF4mac Player as a great QuickTime movie and Panasonic P2 XML player.
